Osteria del Figo - Where diners build their own pasta dishes

"Sandro Romagnoli and Mirko di Giacomantonio knew they had a good thing when their customers at Figo Pasta started complaining there wasn't enough room to dine. So they've made room -- at the corner of Huff and Howell Mill Roads -- in a former bakery in trendy west Atlanta. Regulars at the original establishment may order all of their favorites here, with the added plus of salads, appetizers, and a choice of beer and wine. Osteria del Figo even has a patio for outdoor dining.

Mix and match the very reasonably priced pastas and sauces here, with short or long (spinach-flavored) pastas as a base, enriched by tantalizing sauces, including pancetta, wild mushroom, classic Italian tomato, with or without meat, and the exquisite-sounding sauce of smoked salmon, green peas, and vodka in pink sauce. Ravioli and lasagne are served fresh from the oven. For dessert, choose between tiramisu and Cioccolato Freddo. -- Edna McCown
